Grey´s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo may be expecting her first child with husband Chris Ivery, but that doesn´t mean she loves her little dogs any less! Here she is showing off a baby bump AND carrying her two cute puppies, toy poodles Gigi (black) and Valentino (brown). Bet she´ll make a great mom!
Miles Egstad from California can call himself the proud owner of the Ugliest Dog of the year! His dog, Pabst (doesn´t that mean “pope” in German btw?) was chosen over bookies favorite and last year´s winner Rascal. Pabst, a boxer mutt, is a rescue dog. He and his owner won 1600 dollar, a modeling contract and a year´s worth of petsupplies. Wow! It´s a mutt´s life!
That a boy! A Bernersenner (Bernese mountain) dog managed to chase off a burglar after that vile man had shot the pooch at close range. The burglar ran off to the hospital where they reattached the nose. The dog had to undergo hours of surgery, as he´d been shot in the shoulder, but he´s going to be ok.
According to Southtownstar.com, police arrested this creep when an off-duty Chicago police officer saw the poor puppy being dragged behind Chambers’ car.
Chambers´excuse? He was "mad" at his pup! and that´s why he decided to tie the dog to the back of his car to punish it.
"This is disturbing, especially by a person of this age," the police officer said.
Chambers was charged with a mere misdemeanor! He should be doing hard time as far as I´m concerned!
This pillar of society also resisted arrest and battery because he punched the off-duty officer in the chest, Gainer said.
A word of warning to all you owners of small dogs: never ever leave them alone or even take your eyes off them if there´s a big dog you don´t know running around!
We were badly rattled when a big dog came up to our chihuahua Lucky and out of nowhere bit her. Hard!
Lucky yelped, we yanked her away and started screaming at the dog and it´s SMILING owner. I could have seriously done some damage to that horrible man, if I hadn´t been too busy trying to calm down Lucky. Creep.
People with unreliable, badly raised dogs should either keep them on a leash or keep them away from other dogs. Actually, they shouldn´t be allowed to own dogs in the first place!!!! It just never occurred to me that anyone would be so irresponsible as to let a vicious dog just run free where there are small children and other dogs.
We were peacefully listening to some music in a village square and this just completely ruined our night.
Luckily, our chi was unharmed and just came away with a bad scare, but even now, when I think of what might have happened, it makes my blood run cold. So please, be more careful than we were and keep an eye out for dogs running loose.
A 5-year-old girl behaving like a dog has caused a dramatic sensation in Russia. The girl was taken into care from her home in a Siberian city after child welfare workers found her in a filthy appartment, unwashed and barking.
She´d been living with her father and grandfather, but they had never allowed her to go outside, causing her to be more at ease with the family´s dogs than with humans. The girl is unable to speak and can only bark.
‘For about five years the girl was ‘brought up’ by several dogs and cats and not once went outside,’ a statement from the child care workers said. The child has been taken into care, but is still showing dog behavior, such as lapping up her food, barking and jumping up at people.
Well, that´s what you get when you call a dog a dirty word! Singer Pink says her dog, which she called, ehm, let´s say Fudger, is a happier, more relaxed animal since her dad took him in and called him Fred.
Apparently Pink wasn´t shy about shouting out her dog´s name in public places, such as restaurants and supermarkets, much to the dismay of other guests and shoppers.
Anyway, Fred´s happy now. Not sure whether it´s the change of name or the fact that dad is ruling the roost now that helped, but Fred does seem a more appropriate name, doesn´t it?
Imagine someone being mean enough to call a person they in all probability don´t even know and tell them that their dog is dead! This is what happened to none other than Paris Hilton last week. In the middle of the night some prankster phoned and told her that her beloved chihuahua Tinkerbell had been run over by a car!
I think this is really mean. Apparently, Paris freaked out so badly that the neighbors called the police, because they heard a lot of screaming. Paris and boyfriend Doug Reinhardt explained to the cops that she was screaming because she was so overwrought and he was yelling to try and calm her down.
I am a bit confused about that: I would be very upset if someone did that to me, but at some point she must have realised that her dog was still alive? That ought to have calmed her down, right? And it was the second time in one week that neighbors called the police. That either means really overzealous neighbors or Paris might want to invest in some soundproofing to drown out her screams!
Now here´s a good cause if ever I saw one! Proud dog owner Glenn Close was on Oprah talking about Puppies Behind Bars, a charity that let´s inmates train dogs to help veterans suffering from PTSD.
It ´s such a great idea! It works wonders for the prisoners, who have someone to take care of and love, and it really helps those veterans! F/X star Glenn told Oprah; "You’ll see these big guys saying that they never knew what love was."
Glenn loves her own dogs, Jake and Bill, and they often visit her on the set. Sometimes they even sleep at her feet during filming!
