Vanessa Hudgens is one of those people you can’t help but hate: gorgeous, adorable, and she’s dating High School Musical cutey Zac Efron. And apparently, to add insult to injury, she’s a cat person!!! She looks darn cute holding those two kittens though….

She’s got all that luscious hair, and the body, and she looks awesome in a bikini, frolicking with boyfriend Zac. She gets to wear designer garb, attend red carpet events and she’s only about twelve. Yep, the green eyed monster is sitting on my lap, rather than a cute kitten.
As another web magazine said “the least she can do is have an unflattering pic taken, or give us those cute kittens to make us feel better”. Well, maybe if they were puppies….

Hilary Swank dog

Academy award winning actress Hilary Swank is putting her best foot forward trying to raise awareness for a very worthy cause: animal shelters.

I’m so glad to see a celebrity like Swank really caring about dogs, and not just geting her picture taken in the nude or something for the PETA! Hil is out there getting dogs adopted, becuase she remembers what it was like to have no home and live in a car. Now she is rich and famous, but rather than get posh dogs from a breeder, she adopted two rescue dogs:
“Shelters are full of loving dogs. They just want to be loved, and in return, give love.” The actress is featured in a poster with her own rescue dogs, Karoo, 6, and Rumi, who is almost 2.

The dogs are “blessings” that the two-time Oscar winner cherishes. “They bring so much joy into my life,” Swank, an animal lover from childhood, tells WHO. “I found Karoo in South Africa. I was doing a scene for a film (2004′s Red Dust), where I hopped over a fence. On the second take, I hopped over the fence again, and there she was, looking up at me. She was just this little fluff ball.” Rumi, named for Pakistan’s national poet, was adopted from the East Valley Animal Shelter in Los Angeles.

Says Swank: “My dogs are completely different, but what they have in common is unconditional love. They know I’ve saved their life.”

I think Martha Stewart’s little dogs are adorable, but these outfits are a bit much, even for the decorating queen of America!

I think she’s right to seize the moment though, after losing her Chow chow puppy earlier this year in a freak kennel fire. I would have been heart broken! And last year her other dog Pow pow died of renal failure. Poor Martha. Losing a pet is so hard!

I must admit that I didn’t much care for Gossip Girl Blake Lively. Oh well, probably I’m just jealous of all that lush hair
Anyway, seeing the caring way she carries around her Maltipoo Penny has totally changed my mind. (more Blake Lively dog pics after the jump)

Cute puppy Cherry Pie: latest victim of crisis

It just goes to show that pets are always the ones who really suffer from any crisis. This adorable puppy’s owner’s simply abandoned it, left her behind, after fleeing their creditors when the bank foreclosed on their house.

I do hope they track those people down and fine them! How can anyone be so irresponsible? The poor 12 week old pup was left alone, without food or drink, for four whole days until the foreclosure eople came and found her. Poor baby. She also has cherry eye, which is why the animal rescue people have named her Cherry Pie. I love that name!

I’m such a sucker for this kind of thing! Makes me want to rush out and cuddle this dog. And buy it a juicy bone.

Luckily my own puppy hasn’t figured out yet that when she looks at me with those big, liquid brown eyes she can get me to do anything at all! Wish my husband would let me knit her a sweater, but he thinks that’s just silly. Oh well, maybe if we have a very, very cold winter?
